    The project aims to investigate and document the contacts and transfers between the literatures among themselves and between the literatures and other cultural fields, mediated by institutions (associations, publishers, journals, etc.) and individuals for the period from 1885 to 1913 and in the geographical region of Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Russia, Poland, Scandinavia and England. Based on intensive research on the fin de siècle, especially in German philology, the project chooses the transnational (including all languages, taking into account the study area) and transdisciplinary perspective, whereby the "German perspective" is contrasted with the perspectives of other European countries. European literary and cultural journals as well as the dissemination and reception of selected scientific and popular science works serve as a basis. The results of the documentary work will be discussed at international and interdisciplinary colloquia every three years. The basic structures of European mentality, inter-European forms of perception and actual forms of contacts and transfers will be made visible., Für den Zeitraum von 1885 - 1913 sollen im geographischen Rahmen Deutschland, Österreich, Frankreich, Italien, Russland, Polen, Skandinavien und England die durch Institutionen (Vereinigungen, Verlage, Zeitschriften etc.) und Einzelpersönlichkeiten vermittelten Kontakte und Transfers zwischen den Literaturen untereinander und zwischen den Literaturen und anderen Kulturleistungen untersucht und dokumentiert werden. Gestützt auf eine intensive Fin de siecle- bzw. Jahrhundertwende-Forschung v.a. der Germanistik wählt das Vorhaben die transnationale (auch alle Sprachen den Untersuchungsraums berücksichtigende) und transdisziplinäre Perspektive, wobei neben den "deutschen Blickwinkel" vergleichend und kontrastierend der Blickwinkel anderer europäischer Länder gestellt wird. Als Grundlage dienen europäische Literatur- und Kulturzeitschriften sowie die Verbreitung und Rezeption ausgewählter wissenschaftlicher und populärwissenschaftlicher Werke. Die Ergebnisse der Dokumentationsarbeit sollen im Dreijahresrhythmus auf internationalen und interdisziplinären Kolloquien diskutiert werden. Es sollen die Grundstrukturen europäischer Mentalität, intereuropäische Wahrnehmungsformen und tatsächliche Verlaufsformen von Kontakten und Transfers sichtbar gemacht werden.

    The project Hethitische Forschungen has been based in Mainz for more than 20 years. The project has grown out of fifty years of collecting and editing and of participating in the excavations of the German Archaeological Institute in Bogazköy-Hattuša (Turkey).

    The task has existed since the beginning of the research project in:

    1. the archival collection of cuneiform tablets found during excavations in Bogazköy in the form of autographs, transcriptions and photographs;

    2. the thesaurus-like recording of the text material with regard to lexicon, grammar and factual statements;

    3. the first publication of the cuneiform texts, both from the earlier rich finds and from the new excavations in the academy series cuneiform texts from Boghazköi;

    4. the philological processing and linguistic evaluation of these texts in the Academy series Studies on the Bogazköy Texts., Das Projekt Hethitische Forschungen ist als Arbeitsstelle seit über 20 Jahren in Mainz ansässig. Das Arbeitsvorhaben erwuchs aus nunmehr fünfzigjähriger Sammlungs- und Editionstätigkeit sowie der Mitwirkung bei den Ausgrabungen des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts in Bogazköy-Hattuša (Türkei). Die Aufgabe besteht seit Beginn des Forschungsprojekts in: 1. der archivmäßigen Sammlung der bei den Ausgrabungen in Bogazköy gefundenen Keilschrifttafeln in Form von Autographien, Transkriptionen und Fotos; 2. der thesaurusartigen Erfassung des Textmaterials im Hinblick auf Lexikon, Grammatik und Sachaussagen; 3. der Erstveröffentlichung der Keilschrifttexte, sowohl aus den früheren reichen Funden wie den neuen Grabungen in der Akademie-Reihe Keilschrifttexte aus Boghazköi; 4. der philologischen Bearbeitung sowie sprachwissenschaftlichen Auswertung dieser Texte in der Akademie-Reihe Studien zu den Bogazköy-Texten.
