The historical-critical edition of the works and letters of Adalbert Stifter (1805-1868) comprises a total of about 50 volumes. In addition to the poetic work, the edition will also contain all documents of his official activities as Imperial and Royal School Councillor in Linz and as Provincial Conservator of Upper Austria, as well as his extensive correspondence. All volumes contain a text-critical apparatus and a commentary with detailed explanations of individual passages, as well as information on the origins and reception of the texts by Stifter.
Die Historisch-Kritische Ausgabe der Werke und Briefe von Adalbert Stifter (1805-1868) umfasst insgesamt rund 50 Bände. Neben dem dichterischen Werk wird die Edition auch alle Dokumente seiner amtlichen Tätigkeit als k. k. Schulrat in Linz und als Landeskonservator von Oberösterreich sowie seine umfangreiche Korrespondenz enthalten. Alle Bände enthalten einen textkritischen Apparat und einen Kommentar mit detaillierten Einzelstellenerläuterungen sowie Informationen zu Entstehung und Rezeption der Stifterschen Texte.
